“I actually kissed a man in the film but they took it out, they cut it, I think they got chicken,” he revealed.
“I kissed a guy full on the lips and I guess they weren’t ready for that yet,” Denzel went on. “I killed him about five minutes later; it’s Gladiator!”
Meanwhile, Denzel’s kiss isn’t the only same-sex moment that Ridley cut from the final movie, with Paul Mescal recently revealing that he improvised kissing his costar Pedro Pascal on the forehead during a fight scene.
Gladiator II will be released in the United States on Nov. 22, and in the UK on Nov. 15.
