Connections Between New Orleans Terrorist Attack and Tesla Explosion in Las Vegas

4:36 PM PT — Vegas authorities just said they have ID’d the driver of the car but are not revealing his name. They say he rented the car in Colorado, drove to Vegas and arrived at 7:30 Wednesday morning … then drove up and down the Strip before heading to the hotel.

4:37 PM PT — The authorities credit Elon Musk for providing information that helped them track the car with video at various charging stations along the route.

7:20 PM PT — A Turo spokesperson tells TMZ, “We are heartbroken by the violence perpetrated in New Orleans and Las Vegas, and our prayers are with the victims and families. We are actively partnering with law enforcement authorities as they investigate both incidents. We do not believe that either renter involved in the Las Vegas and New Orleans attacks had a criminal background that would have identified them as a security threat.
